Leonardo DiCaprio is known all over the world for his award-winning acting ability. He is considered one of the top 100 movie stars of all time. His experience includes both television and motion pictures, but he’s best known for being an Oscar winning movie star.
At a very young age Leonardo’s parents noticed his performance skills and signed him up with an agent. He got his start at the age of 5 starring in a children’s program called Romper Room. He has said he felt like his first role was at 14, filming a commercial for Matchbox Cars. He starred in many commercials throughout his early teens, and then, at the age of 16, he landed his first major TV show, Growing Pains. At 17, Leonardo had landed his first movie role.
To date, he has starred in over 40 movies – and he’s only 43 years old! He is truly a big star, and you’d think with success so early in his career, plus the fact that he’s so highly regarded as a great actor, that he’d have multiple Oscar awards, right? Surprisingly, no.
Leonardo did receive his first Oscar nomination in 1994 as a supporting actor in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape and received 4 additional nominations for acting and producing over the years but didn’t WIN his first Oscar until 2016! It took 22 years for him to actually win the award!
Over the years, he’s been nominated for awards throughout the world with many different organizations that celebrate great filmmaking, but the most coveted is the Oscar award. Leonardo is a big movie star, highly respected, and undoubtably an excellent actor – but it’s hard to believe that it took all those years for him to win the Oscar. He never gave up, though.
Leonardo has also made a big name for himself in the philanthropy world. He is very passionate about the environment, and in 1998 created a foundation in his name. The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation supports projects that protect vulnerable wildlife from extinction, while restoring balance to threatened ecosystems and communities. He is also dedicated to the issue of climate change. He is using his star power to create positive change in the world. He didn’t just talk about it, he made it happen. His Foundation has help fund over 200 projects, awarded grants for over $100 million dollars, and supported over 130 organizations.
What is your big dream? Do you want to become a big star in your field, in your life, in the lives of others? Dream BIG and choose the images that represent the future you want to make your “dreams come true!”
Remember, dreams do come true! So, dream BIG!
I would love to be considered for this project. Ironically, I am in the process of creating my own vision board. While mine is rather primitive compared to the beautiful images on your website. I am a huge believer in the power of vision boards! The one I created for myself is helping me in my recovery. I am in the process of healing from a rare neurological condition that left me suddenly unable to walk. So, in addition to my recovery through physical therapy, I am working on my psychological recovery. My vision board helps me focus on envisioning getting out of my wheelchair and walking unassisted again. It is working very well, as I am progressing every week in walking and getting stronger every day. I know that creating and focusing on my dreams on my vision board is helping me reach my goal of healing my body and walking again!
I would love to hear more about this opportunity, and how I could help you get it completed.
